Founders & Key Figures

The Stanford PhD and Peking University assistant professor who founded Galbot — one of China's best-funded embodied AI startups.
He Wang (王鹤, born 1992) is the founder and CTO of Galbot (银河通用), a Beijing-based embodied AI startup. He is also a tenure-track assistant professor and doctoral supervisor at Peking University's Center on Frontiers of Computing Studies (CFCS), and director of the PKU–Galbot Joint Lab of Embodied AI.
Wang graduated from Tsinghua's Department of Electronic Engineering in 2014, then earned his PhD at Stanford under computer-vision pioneer Leonidas Guibas. He returned to China to join PKU and in 2023 founded Galbot, which has since raised over 7 billion RMB across six rounds in under three years — making it one of the best-funded embodied AI companies in China.
Galbot is the archetype of the "academic founder" wave in Chinese embodied AI: a top-tier researcher who moved from end-to-end robot-learning papers into a product company. Its G-series robots target real-world manipulation in retail and warehouse settings, and Wang has repeatedly argued that generalist robot foundation models — not scripted task automation — are the path to useful general-purpose robots. In 2026 he received the Beijing Youth May Fourth Medal, the only embodied AI figure to do so that year.
