Who he is
Peng Zhihui is the Huawei "genius" who gave up a reported 2-million-yuan salary offer to found Agibot in 2023 with former Huawei VP Deng Taihua. Known online as "Wild Iron Man" (稚晖君) for his spectacular DIY robotics videos, he became one of China's most recognisable young engineers.
The startup rose faster than almost any in the sector. Agibot reached a 15-billion-yuan valuation in three years, backed by 10 financing rounds and more than 50 investors from Tencent to BYD. In H1 2026 it overtook Unitree in shipments — roughly 8,400 units, about 44% of the market — and launched a Hong Kong IPO.
Why he matters
Peng personifies the shift of top AI talent into embodied AI. His famous "358 plan" — 10 billion yuan revenue by 2027, 100 billion by 2030 — is the most ambitious publicly stated target in the industry. If the humanoid race is a talent war, Peng is one of the strongest signs that China's best minds are all in.
