Who he is

Zhou Jian is the most persistent salesman in humanoids. Before UBTECH became the world's first listed humanoid-robot company (HKEX, December 2023), he sold his house three times and his cars three times to keep the company alive through years of no revenue from its signature robots.

That stubbornness built a company with a full product ladder — from the small Jimu education robots to the full-size Walker series. Today UBTECH's Walker S line is one of the few humanoids working real shifts on real automotive assembly lines, in partnership with manufacturers like BYD.

Why he matters

Zhou took humanoids public before the hype cycle — proof of concept that capital markets would buy the story. His current bet is that factory floors, not living rooms, will pay first: the Walker S target for 2026 is 5,000 shipments. "To build a true humanoid robot, I'm willing to bet everything," he has said. He largely did.
